Driveway

Driveways

Concrete driveways are more durable than asphalt driveways, and they require less maintenance. When maintained properly, concrete driveways can last over fifty years.

Patios

We can do all types of concrete patios, and they don’t have to be rectangular. Whatever shape you desire, MGA Concrete can make it.

Round patio

Steps

We can do straight or curved steps, as well as wheelchair ramps. Well constructed concrete steps will make the entrance to your home or business more appealing.

According to the building code, steps should be at least three feet wide. Risers (The difference in height from one step to the next) should be no more than 7.75 inches. The maximum variation between risers should be no more than 3/8 inches. The minimum tread depth (Horizontal distance from one step to the next) for each step is eleven inches, also with a maximum variation of 3/8 inches.

Sidewalks

Whether you want your sidewalk straight or serpentine like this one, we can construct it. Straight walkways are good for moving from point A to point B. If your walkway goes through your garden, why not let it meander instead? Curving walkways just seem more interesting than straight ones. The generally recommended width for a sidewalk is four feet. That’s wide enough for two people to walk alongside of each other.

Slab

We can pour a concrete slab to use as a floor for your pole barn, shed , gazebo or other structure. You can also use a slab as a place as a base for your hot tub or propane tank.

Concrete Texture Options

Smooth

Most of our concrete has a smooth surface. look, like this driveway.

Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Exposed Aggregate Concrete

Some folks prefer the look of exposed aggregate concrete, as shown on these steps. All concrete contains aggregate, but here it is exposed on the surface. Since this gives it a rough surface, it’s a great choice for pool decks since it is not as slippery as smooth concrete.

Stamped Concrete

We can do stamped concrete, which can be used to simulate brick, stone, or even wood

Concrete Color Options

concrete color options

This chart shows concrete colors available from Butterfield Colors. The colors are created by adding pigment to the concrete mixer before it is poured. This is not just a color applied to the surface. The pigment will be dispersed throughout the concrete.

Depending on the color, this will increase the cost of the concrete anywhere from 10-30%. Please note this is the cost of the concrete only. Since much of the project cost comes from labor and other expenses, adding color to your project will increase the total cost a smaller percentage.

What Customers Say About MGA Concrete

We hate to brag about ourselves, but we love it when our customers do it for us:

  • Miguel and his helper did a fabulous job on pouring me a new front porch with a concrete ramp that leads to my new side walk. They did most of the work by hand. They very hard workers and did a top Notch quality job.
  • Miguel and his crew did an excellent job on the concrete work for my garage approach and slab addition. This was no easy task, as the work was completed adjacent to and abutting the existing 1920s shed structure being converted. From estimating the work at the outset to applying the sealer at the completion, he paid attention to the details and identified and addressed a variety of project challenges before they became a problem. He surveyed the site at the beginning and adjusted the plan to accommodate the higher grade on the side of the building with the new slab. He also found that the existing slab was far out of level and came up with a compromise for the new approach to make it work for where the two met. Most importantly, Miguel showed up to work when he said he would, communicated effectively concerning key decisions, and kept me posted with his progress. Overall, it was a pleasure to work with Miguel, and I certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a detail-oriented concrete concrete contractor to get their project done right.
  • We have nothing but praise and gratitude for a job well done! – Ronald K., Plainfield

Concrete Sealant Application

We highly recommend the application of a sealer on concrete. This will help protect it against:

  • Abrasion of the surface
  • Salt infiltration
  • Water absorption
  • Cracking
  • Damage from freeze and thaw cycles
  • Surface staining
  • Mold and mildew

Bob Vila recommends Armor AR350 Solvent Wet Look Concrete Sealer as the best overall. At about forty-five dollars per gallon, it isn’t cheap. For those on a tight budget, he rates MasonryDefender Concrete Driveway Sealer as the best overall value. It goes for around $28 per gallon. MGA Concrete can apply any sealer you desire.
